Sarah:

they bring together influences from all over, including their own art from centuries past, and bring to the table something so colorful and interesting that the japanese have proven only they can do.

I have always loved that the designs I see from Japan are so varied. There seems to be no fear of color, texture, or anything else.

Melli:

I love the contrasting imagery in Japanese design - from cute San-x type mamegoma/nyanko style thru to the edgier work - it's all so accessible and distinctive!

I love how Japanese designs tend to be fearless, bold, and imaginative. :)

Bree:

Great cards and badges!

One of the things I love most about Japanese art and design is the variety of influences. The artists look to their heritage, pop culture, and even other artists for inspiration. They address past and present/personal and universal themes (sometimes even within the same work of art!). This fusion of themes and range of influences produces such a fun and fresh variety of art, craft, and design.

Laura:

I love the uniquness that you get with Japanese design.

Lucy Taylor:

Gorgeous vibrant colours. These are truly beautiful.

Loving the balance achieved between the old and the new - and this is true for many Japanese design disciplines, whether it be textile, graphic, online, industrial etc...

Jenia:

The colors are soothing and uplifting...i love it!

Emily:

Love the unique style of modern Japanese art and design, plus it brings back memories of my holiday to Tokyo a couple of years ago.

Thanks for the chance to win!

Em

What I like are the color palette and the simple yet complex pattern design.

Irit:

One of my favorite genres is kawaii art, which often conceals a much darker symbolism. Yoshitomo Nara is the best artist to represent this trend.

Irit:

I just love how modern Japanese design is still very much influenced by tradition. This perfect combination creates very unique designs, which are both cutting edge yet so very Japanese.

Debbie:

I love Japanese design in general as it is always so vibrant and colourful. Good use of contrast. Love it. X

Bita:

As always, the stuff from Japan are so unique and pretty:O))))
Thanks a ton for the giveaway!!!!!

Kate:

I love the beautiful colors! They make you look twice, just to catch all the details. And as some others have already said, the first thing I thought of when I saw the buttons especially was of the old-new Japanese style combination.

I had to go to TiFdyL's website to see more paintings! His hats and clothes are really amazing too! "Glamourous people with amazing creativity from all over the world whom I've ever met. This is my true inspiration." Love it!

Natalie Henderson:

The colours and innovation that you see are just amazing!

Catherine MacLennan:

Just found this amazing site an absolutely love the jewellery and the kimono chic section. Great site for unusual presents as well.

We have really enjoyed reading all of your ideas and comments! Thank you!

The randomly picked winner is Irit who wrote "I just love how modern Japanese design is still very much influenced by tradition. This perfect combination creates very unique designs, which are both cutting edge yet so very Japanese."

Thanks to you all once again for great comments, the July giveaway will be going up today!!
