The Cute Factor - Tokyo

According to Japan Today, in an attempt to draw attention to the city and raise it's global profile Tokyo is squeezing out the cute factor. Going beyond the Hello Kitty, kawaii manga eyes and miniature everything, Tokyo has reached out for the real deal and announced the dawning of the Ambassadors of Cute, from left: actress Shizuka Fujioka, Yu Kimura, center, and Misako Aoki pose during a news conference at the Foreign Ministry on Thursday. The girls, chosen for their apparent super cute looks are being 'used' as representatives of Japan’s long-running craze for all things cute. The girls will be on tour spreading the cuteness, one of their roles will be to speak at cultural events such as a Japan Expo to be held in Paris in July.
