Hot New Haiku

Back from 6 days in the Japanese mountains, safe and sound despite a typhoon, an earthquake and severe withdrawal symptoms from lack of internet access we are overwhelmed by the gorgeous Haiku that have filled our inbox.

Red strawberries, sweet
In my mouth and on my bag
Running into the sunshine

Kittens playing, fun!
Ball of yarn, up to mischeif
Cute faces, cute paws

Smiley faces, cute
It's all about 'Kawaii'
Pink cheeks all around

This splash of sweetness was sent to us by Varinia. Super kawaii with gorgeous and original artwork. Thank you so much Varinia for your Haiku and adding some cute color to our blog.

These next powerful pieces were sent in by Shareen

Graffiti is air
Wrapped around tales in whispers
Written on our hearts

The second attachment is my name in graffiti because
it is an example of how graffiti tells a story.
I like a certain band and I put lyrics in the
background and the letters are sharp and red to show I
am rebellious, independent, and strong (as in girl
power!) =]

Big Tokyo love to you Shareen!

Keep em coming kids!

So many haiku
Are small and perfectly formed
Such a job to judge?

ha ha
no kidding
It is getting harder by the day, may have to bring in the Haiku big guns on this one. Call in the world powers!

Perhaps you should try
Hunting for haiku masters
But where would you look?

They just keep coming!

Ha that one is awesome, really it speaks of the plight of a Haiku judge.

We are in the land of Haiku so there are a few pros we can consult and we know of some international judges, as things start to heat up we are putting out the feelers! This is getting serious. ;)
