TOKYO TRAVEL TIP - ENJOY HOUSE

Whether you are a Tokyo traveller, a long time dweller or a newbie to this city, the choice of places to eat drink and get merry can be quite overwhelming. So we plan to give you a few insider tips and offer up some info on the hot spots off the well beaten Tokyo track.

A few weeks ago we were lucky enough to be invited to listen to TOKYOMADE designer Seimani do his stuff on the decks at Enjoy House, Ebisu.

A top night, great tunes, awesome atmosphere and some of the best and original veg and vegan food I have tried in Tokyo. The scrumptious menu serves up a fusion of all things delectable at a reasonable price.

Masao kicked off the night with a plate of Thai inspired fish cakes and dipping sauce. We followed up with frozen margaritas and mojitos with our tempeh and salad set. A huge plate piled with fresh greens, tasty toppings, Japanese style vegie side dishes and two large pieces of bean filled tempeh with a sweet dipping sauce. Naturally we each washed everything down with homemade chai and soy ice cream. This glorious feast only set us back ¥4200, including drinks. The whole time being surrounded by an entertaining eclectic mish mash and backdrop of Seimani mixing smooth beats. A fab Tokyo night

Enjoy House in Ebisu is a must! Other reviews describe Enjoy House as a reggae bar run by a guy with Tokyo's biggest Afro. Go San's afro was quite tame when we visited but his style was a force to be reckoned with. One of the things we loved about Enjoy House (apart from the the devine frozen margaritas) was its impressive array of local music event flyers and its obvious support of independant djs and music acts.
